FC United continue public consultation for proposed new £3.5m Moston site

FC United's proposals for a new site in Moston have received a mixed response from residents at recent consultations. The site near St Marys Road could house a 5,000 seater statium, community pitches, education facilities, function rooms and landscaped public areas if planning permission is granted. The development represents around £3.5 million of investment in Moston.

Some residents living near the proposed site welcome the new facilities whereas others feared house prices would fall and there could be disruption on match days.

There will be two more consultations on 28 & 29 June . . .
Wednesday 29 June, North City Library, Rochdale Road, 6pm - 8pm
Thursday 30 June, Miners Community & Arts Centre, Teddington Road, 6pm - 8pm

Club representatives will be there, together with Moston Juniors Football Club and representatives from Manchester City Council.

FC United general manager Andy Walsh said: "These sessions are part of our on-going consultation with the Moston community about our plans, aimed at giving as many people as possible the opportunity to put their views directly to us and Moston Juniors Football Club.

"We want as many people as possible to come along and tell us what they would like included in our plans for what would be a community facility . . . so we can take these into consideration as we develop our proposals.

"We will be working closely with the council to keep the community informed as our consultation progresses."
