In 2007 The Taxi Academy was the first UMIC  business tenant at One Central Park and has since won numerous awards and trained over 800 taxi drivers working across Greater Manchester.

MD Kashef Ahmad (pictured) outgrew OCP 's incubation space and his team now train taxi drivers from  their  Cheetham  site which has its own body shop and garages as well as free parking and a range of classrooms close to the city centre.

The Taxi Academy offers courses for both Private Hire and Hackney Cabs plus a range of services including one-to-one training; day, evening and weekend courses; vehicle buying guides;  plated car rentals; help with accounting; HMRC registration and insurance.

First-time pass rates are excellent but their guarantee pass means they will continue teaching for as long as it takes with no extra charge.

Kash is an inspirational entrepreneur who puts his success down to perseverance , lots of hard work and the contacts he has built up over the years.

 "My saving grace has been the contacts I've made" he explains "contacts built up during hard times of stress and strain but which pay off in the long-run".

His advice for entrepreneurs?  "Don't be daunted, it may seem hard at first but once you are surrounded by great people who can provide key information, decisions can be made quickly and effectively. Take advantage of this free resource of knowledge available".
